Cornerstone Gardens
Cornerstone Gardens is a hidden pearl in Downtown Mobile, offering quiet respite and peace. As one wanders through this garden you start in an English garden with the main feature designed to replicate the cupola on the carriage house behind the main house. As you wander further through the garden you come to a Japanese Woodland gardens area with a beautiful Koi pond. Traveling further into the gardens is a section with several small bridges and a fountain made from slate from the roof of the 1903 residence. Coming back up to the middle of the garden is an herb garden and potting greenhouse where the owner grafts camellias. One of the main garden highlights is the owner's extensive camellia collection. These camellias, some dating back at least two generations, are interspersed throughout the garden.
