WHAT: Mobile County Master Gardeners 2022 Spring Educational Seminar

WHEN: Saturday, April 23, 2002, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm

WHERE: Jon Archer Center, 1070 Schillinger Rd N, Mobile

WHAT: A day of special local speakers educating us about food options

FEE: $30 which includes a box lunch


· Two local chefs will share their experiences of preparing locally sourced ingredients for the enjoyment of their patrons: Chris Rainosek of Noble South and Jim Smith of Hummingbird Way.


· Two local farmers will talk about their work to produce local food for us: Doug Ankersen of Double D Oyster Nursery and Will Mastin of Local Appetite Growers.


· Two food educators will discuss food from a health standpoint: Kristin Alpine of Wildflowers and Fresh Food and Antoinette Hamilton, Food Educator for Alabama Extension.


· A box lunch will be provided, accompanied by a walk through the DREAM Demonstration Garden at the Jon Archer Center where Master Gardeners raise fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. All produce grown in the DREAM Demonstration Garden is donated to Mission of Hope Ministries in Mobile.
